The main housing accommodations for the conference will be dormitory rooms on the campus of UIPR. The University has several dormitories, also with a new facility. Dormitory rooms at UIPR come with one, two, or three single beds, so be sure to indicate when you make your housing reservations with the University whether you will be sharing a room with one or more persons. You should enter all the names of those who will be in a room when making a reservation. The University will not assign more than one person to a room without their agreement. Showers and restroom facilities are shared.
San Juan offers an array of hotels that range in price from moderate to very expensive. Most are located near the beaches in Condado, Ocean Park, or Isle Verde. These areas are approximately 15 minutes from UIPR by car. Participants who wish to stay in a hotel should make their own reservations. The TARDEL Travel Group can help with this process if needed.
Airbnb has become quite popular in Puerto Rico in recent years. As of November 1, 2021, there are a number of Airbnb apartments and houses available during the week of the conference located within 20 minutes walking distance or 5 minutes by car from the university campus. Reservations are made directly with the hosts through the Airbnb webpage.
Meals
UIPR offers several cafeterias that will be open during the time of the conference. There are also a number of restaurants within the immediate neighborhood of the campus. Friday evening will be the conference banquet, which will be at no additional cost to participants. Those who plan to attend are asked to register in advance. We will plan to offer traditional Puerto Rican food, with a vegetarian option.
Coffee and tea will be available each morning, provided by el Seminario Evangélico de Puerto Rico. Bottled water will also be available throughout each day.

Puerto Rico is located at the northern edge of the Caribbean Sea. Daily temperatures in San Juan in June can range from 25°C / 75°F to 32°C / 90°F. It’s summer season. Most days the temperature stays around 30°C / 85°F. While the island is quite breezy, humidity levels in June are usually high, and one can expect short rain showers every several days.
